Office/Guest Room Remodel: Before, During & After

As promised, here are photos of the Office/Guest Room Remodel.
Last week I showed you pics of our Master Bedroom/Bathroom Remodel.
As a refresher, here is a picture of what our master bedroom looked like when we first moved in, our master had a extra 11x11 room attatched to it that the realtor called a "sitting room"

I used it as a "junk area"

When we found out we were pregnant with Luke, we decided to wall it up & make that room a Guest Room/Office and make the old Guest Room into a nursery.

Framing out the new wall & adding a door way to the hall:

Adding the sheet rock to the framing:

Other side of the room:

 View from the new doorway:

And, after we painted, added the carpet, new baseboard, crown moulding & new door:

{I used the same bedding & side tables that we had in the previous Guest Room}

View of the "Office" part of the room, which is just a desk.
This is where we could have added a closet, but we wanted to have have an office/desk area instead.

We were originally going to make this room an Office with a big L shaped Desk, but Luke was on his way, we need to make the Guest Room his room and combine the new Guest Room with the office. We like having a Guest Room for ALL those visitors that we get, you know once or twice a year ;)

Above the desk is my framed jersey from when I played college soccer at Unversity of Colorado.
Each senior got one when they graduated.
It's been stored in a closet for the past 7 years, but Kevin said we should finally hang it up. The girls think it's cool :)
So, there you have it. Our completed Office/Guest Room/Master Bedroom Remodel!
Along with this remodel, we also put in new baseboards, crown molding & doors in all our other bedrooms. Here are updated pics of those rooms!

Claire's Room:

Luke's Room (which used to be the Guest Room)
{More pics & details of Luke's Nursery can be found on THIS post}
Now, to figure out (& budget) for the next thing we want to remodel in our house!
Thanks for looking!

Confessions.

1.  When I was pregnant with Luke (we didn't know if he was a boy or a girl until he was born)
I saw these cute containers in the Target dollar spot and bought them because if was having a boy, I knew that I wanted him to have a Nautical Themed 1st Birthday Party.

That's right, I was planning (and buying) decorations for my unborn baby's 1st birthday party.
I have party planning issues....I just love thinking about & planning parties.
I even have a link above dedicated to parties I have thrown!

2. A family friend gave me this Target giftcard for Luke.
I was planning on buying diapers for him.
I bought this instead.
It is a zipper front, so it totally counts as a nursing dress...right? Right.

3. Luke wears footie pj's 95% of the time.
With the girls, I had them in super cute outfits & headbands every.single.day
They only wore pj's to sleep in.
I don't know if it's because Luke is a boy & the outfits aren't as cute, but I just don't mind that he wears his footie pj's all day everyday. He has about 10 different ones in size 6 months. He just looks so cozy in them and since we are having a cold winter (for California), it's just easier keeping him cozy with pj's.
He wears an actual outfit to church on Sundays, but that's about it.
The majority of pictures for his first 5 months of life are him wearing a onesie or pj's.
I feel bad about this & am going to start putting him in real clothes more often.

(Maybe I should have used that Target gift card on clothes for him.....)

Phew.
Glad I could get all this off my chest.
I feel much better now.

Anyone else have any silly confessions?
Entertain me in the comments :)

My word of the year is Simplify, and let me tell you....this planner is helping me simplify!
Some of my favorite pages are the monthly meal plan:
Love this cleaning list to help simplify your cleaning schedule:
This shopping list for multiple stores is GENIUS!

How great is this page to help you organize things you want to make!

There is also a calendar page where you can print out blank pages & fill it out each month. I know most people love using their phones for their calendar, but I am one of those people who needs to write it down & see it all laid out.
This page is also cool,  it is a daily page and you can enter things on the computer & just print it out! Love!

And, how cute is the design? Love the chevron! And, Jenny can personalize your cover.
Here is mine:
I bought a 1 inch white binder & some dividers to put all my print outs in. This is totally organizing my life & simplifying it!
On Sundays, I fill out my weekly meal plan list & shopping list.
The monthly budget sheet. One of my resolutions is to also see where I am spending money. This is helping. *gulp*

The weekly outfit organizer? So fun! This will help me with the Pin-Spired link up...I'm doing 1 Pin-spired outfit a week!

And, there is even a blog post calendar, to jot down ideas/things you want to blog! The first 2 I wrote down were Pin-Spired (THIS FRIDAY!) and 10 on 10, which I do every month!

There are 26 pages included in the Everything Kit and you just print out what you need and however many copies you need/want.
{The kit is available in her Etsy shop HERE}

I love it and I know you will also!
It is great having it stored in a binder in our office. Ahhhh....organization! Baby steps!
I love that there are so many places to write down lists.
There is just something so satisfying about crossing things off a list.

All you have to do is leave a comment answering this question:

Out of the 26 printable pages in the kit (listed above), which page(s) would you use the most or which page(s) will be most helpful to keep you organized?

For me, it is a tie between the budget page & the weekly meal planning page.
Those are going to get a lot of use and keep me organized with our budget & meal planning!

***Giveaway Ends next Monday February 4th! Winner will be chosen via Random.org ***

 ***GIVEAWAY is now CLOSED***
Congrats, Shelly!!!!

What a Week.

The past week or so has kicked my booty.
So much going on. Deep Breath.
Last week Kate was VIP in her Kindergarten class, which translates to *me* having homework each night. Ha!
We had to make a scrapbook, bring in show & tell, take home the class bear and journal about it & Kevin got to go in one day and read a book to her class. All of it was fun, but it just took a lot of time. Kate was so excited about it all week & having something special to do each day, which caused her to be too excited to sleep at night.
All that, combined with her birthday party on Saturday was just a lot of excitement.
Here are some instagrams of the couple weeks of crazytown around here!

It was COLD last week. Frost on the grass 5 days in a row. We are wimpy Californians, we don't like frost.

Highlight of the week, was getting carded at the grocery store buying wine.
The cashier said there is no way I am 33 with 3 kids. MADE MY WEEK.
The kids have done some modeling for Pottery Barn Kids, here is Claire on their website:
Check out it out here on their website!

I needed glass bottles for Kate's party, so I used glass "frappachino" bottles.
I was thankful to have a coffee pick me up every afternoon for the past 2 weeks.
My collection of bottles:
Tip: These are Archer Farms (Target brand) coffee frappachino drink bottles. The label comes right off.  Cheaper & easier than the Starbucks brand.

More party prep...the bags I bought for the cookie favors were too small (the cookies were bigger than what I thought I ordered) Anyone need 20 chevorn bags? Ha!
3 am and I was ready for the party. I would have been done earlier, but Luke decided to be awake from midnight until 2 am.
{Kate's Pancakes & Pajamas Party post is HERE.}

Then it was off to party #3 of the day. Bowling for my Father in Law's birthday!

Happy 70th Birthday! I am lucky to have such a great Father in Law!

3 sick kids means Mommy needs wine. At 5 pm....on the dot.
Luke who was finally sleeping 8 hours at night has reverted back to waking up every few hours because he doesn't feel well. We had him sleep in his bouncer or swing for several hours to help with his coughing. It made me feel better if he was at an incline. Easier for him to breathe. Poor thing.
Luckily Kate was well enough to go to school on her birthday. My mother in law & Claire brought her balloons.
For Kate's bday dinner, she wanted to go to some place that would sing her Happy Birthday :)
We brought birthday cupcakes to Daisy's.
Phew. What a week.
I was so tired this morning I forgot to bring part of my breast pump to school. Ouchie.
The kids are finally on the mend and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sore throat I have had for 2 days goes away!

And, as a reminder, NEXT FRIDAY is the FIRST Pin-Spired Linky Party!!!
Can't wait to see what outfits you have pinned & worn!!!

So ready for the weekend & So happy it's Friday.
Friday Night means Pizza Night! (and wine!)
Hope you have a great weekend!
