Snaggle-tooth

Claire has been using this a lot:
It is the First Years Vibrating Star Teether. I got it at Safeway for $8.99 last month when I noticed 4 of Claire's top teeth coming in. It vibrates/massages the gums when the baby puts it in their mouth. A very, very odd teether, but you know what? Claire LOVES it! She giggles when she puts it in her mouth. This is a much better alternative to Tylenol or Motrin, in my opinion! I highly recommend this teether!

Claire's new nickname is Snaggletooth. Her right fang tooth came in before the front teeth, and it looks so funny, see for yourself:

Her poor gums! Ouch! She is still happy even though she is getting all those teeth at once!
Luckily, the top 2 started to break through over the weekend, so now she doesn't look *as* funny! I wonder when the top left fang is going to break through?

I double dare someone to buy one and actually use it.

I am thinking this is a perfect White Elephant Christmas present.

Better yet, I might buy one for my older sister & give it to her for her birthday since she drinks SO much water & always has to stop and go to the bathroom when we travel.
Actually....maybe I will put it in her Easter Basket since that is in 2 weeks & her birthday isn't until August.

The BOB.

The POTM for February is my new double jogging stroller that arrived yesterday!
It is the BOB Revolution Duallie.

I have been "lusting" over this stroller for the past year or so, but I just couldn't justify the $579 price tag (ouch!) Well, when my friend Becky was over a few weeks ago & she told me that she found new BOB Revolution Duallie's on ebay for $389! They were last year's model and that is why they were so much cheaper. Becky sent me the link, but that store was already sold out. I searched around ebay for a few more days & found another ebay store that had them! Luckily for me, the timing was perfect because it was a few days after Kevin finished our taxes & he said I could use some of the tax money to get the stroller. Thank you Kevin :)

The stroller arrived yesterday & Kevin put it together last night (I didn't even have to ask...he is so well trained! hehe!) The weather was in the 60's today, so I thought I would take the girls on a walk this afternoon to test out BOB, since it is supposed to rain all weekend.

Kate LOVED riding next to Claire. I let Kate pick out which seat was hers (the right side). The whole walk she kept peeking over to Claire's side saying "Hi Hair!" Kate kept talking the whole time telling me "This fun!" & "I like this walk".
I think Claire really liked being able to sit up & see the world around her on a walk (she is used to being trapped in her infant seat on walks).

Even though this stroller is a little pricey (and I got a bargain!) it really is worth it. I know I have only taken it on 1 walk, but it was SO easy to push and maneuver! I felt like it was gliding. Our neighborhood has a ton of hills & it wasn't hard for me to push the girls up the hills. The stroller is light weight (for a double jogger) and it turns on a dime. It is wide...we definitely took up the width of the whole sidewalk!

Thanks again for the idea to look on ebay Becky! Can't wait to jog (.....or walk) downtown in our matching strollers to get coffee with the kids!

I heart Costco

January's POTM is.....anything from COSTCO!!

I heart Costco. I mean, where else can you get 3 heads of lettuce for $2.99? Or 2 pounds of Starbucks coffee for $12.99? Or 4x6 pictures printed for $.13 each?

After tonight, I REALLY heart Costco.

5 years ago in January 2004, Kevin and I bought a little 2o inch TV (for our bedroom) from Costco for $150. About 9-10 months ago the TV started having a problem. Whenever we turned on the TV, the closed captioning turned would come on also. It got kinda annoying after a few months. Then, a few weeks ago the closed captioning turned on in Spanish. Our poor little TV was I knew Costco had great customer service & a good return policy, so I decided to go to Costco & tell them about the TV to see if there was a warranty on it or something. I had to pick up some pictures today at Costco, so I decided to go by Customer Service & tell them about my malfunctioning TV. The woman I spoke to was nice & she looked up my info on the computer since I had no receipt. Sure enough, she found my info & I asked her if I could bring it in & return it...she said "sure". Suh-weeeeeeeet!

I called Kevin when I got home & told him the "good news". He has been dying to get an LCD flat screen TV, so this was his chance! When he got home from work we loaded up the TV and the girls & headed to Costco. The woman who I spoke to earlier today wasn't there, so I explained the situation to the new lady. She said usually they accept returns on broken TV's after 2-3 years, but since it had been 5 years she needed to get a managers approval. (gulp!) 30 seconds later the manager approved & we were given Costco Cash (aka store credit). She informed me that their current store policy on TV's & electronics was a 90 day return policy, so if we were getting a new TV we should be aware of that....good to know!

Kevin led us right over to the TV section & he was looking at the 26 inch TV's but then noticed for $50 more we could get a 32 inch. Why Not! We had our "Costco Cash" and Christmas money, so the TV was costing us practically nothing!

So, Horray for Costco and their amazing return policy & excellent customer service!

Here is a picture of Kevin's "new baby". It fits perfectly in our armorie in our bedroom....unfortunately because we upgraded to 32 inch, I lost a shelf of clothing space....it's okay, I will take one for the team!

Chai Latte

When Kevin and I were dating, we used to go to Borders & sit in the cafe. We would get Chai Latte from the Borders cafe & then we would play cribbage (like old people. ha!) The Borders Cafe had the BEST chai lattes. They were SO good. Then, a tragedy happened. The Borders Cafe switched who they got their coffee & teas from! The new coffee & teas were not good & the chai latte was disgusting. It was such a bummer. We love chai lattes, especially during the fall & winter seasons.

I have been on the search for a chai latte that compares to the one that Borders used to carry. Starbucks, Peets, Tully's & Bagel Street all failed miserably. They were un-drinkable if you ask me! I thought I would never have a decent chai latte again. That is until my friend Lesly told me about Trader Joe's Spicy Chai Latte mix. One can is only about $3.99 (I think) It tastes EXACTLY like the ones we used to get at Borders. All you do is add a scoop of the mix & hot water! I like to add some (a lot) of whipped cream to mine!

I am enjoying a mug right now while listening to the rain pitter patter on the windows. Claire is asleep on my chest under the glow of our Christmas tree & Kevin is playing dolls with Kate.

Life is good.

Lands End

My November Product of the Month is this great bag my cousin Allison sent me right after Kate was born. It is HUGE & has a zipper top & holds SO much stuff! I think I could fit Kate in one. Alli sent me another one for Claire & it came in the mail on Friday, just in time for our trip to Pebble Beach (that will be a whole new post, I am WAY too tired to blog about it now....)
The bag is from Lands' End and it makes a great new baby gift, birthday or Christmas present! The bags are made of thick canvas and are super sturdy. They come in tons of colors & you can get them personalized (which I love). It has pockets all along the inside. I was able to pack all their clothes, diapers & toys and it all zipped in nicely with room to spare! Mine are the X-Large size.

Thanks Alli for such an awesome & practical gift!

Caramel Candy Corn

That's right folks, it that time of month....the October POTM (product of the month). This post is coming early because I want to tell you about it before they sell out & before Halloween is over.

4 words: Brach's Caramel Candy Corn.

This was a new product that came out last year in fall of 2007. I got it last year & this year at Target. 3 bags for $5 on sale!

Oh man. I have the weirdest love-hate relationship with candy corn and the pumpkin mallowcremes. I see them, I must have them, but I only want to eat like 5 before I'm like okay, no more for a year. But, every year, come October 1st, I bust out my glass pumpkin & fill it with candy corn & pumpkin mallowcremes. I mostly fill it because it looks pretty & festive, not because I love the candy. But last year, Brachs came out with a new product: Carmel candy corn. This stuff is good. REALLY good. It puts normal candy corn & pumpkin mallowcremes to shame.

The caramel corn smells much sweeter than normal candy corn, if you can believe it. Its color is brown bottom, yellow/orange middle and white tip. The flavor is extremely sweet, but it really tastes of caramel with a burnt and milky essence to it. Hard for me to believe that they outdid the original, but they certainly did it here.

They also came out with Caramel Apple Candy corn, but I was sort of frightened by this flavor. These have a brown bottom, red middle and white tip. They’re really quite pretty and I imagine they would look quite attractive in my glass pumpkin, but I am scared to try them. If you have had this flavor, let me know what you think, i am too cheap to spend $1.99 on a bag to find out :)

Back to the Caramel Candy Corn.....The flavor is familiar enough for candy corn lovers and different and strong enough to convince all the rest that candy corn is indeed a tasty treat. So, even if you don't like candy corn, you might like these! I hope they continue to make these each autumn season...We have already gone through 2 bags and it isn't even Halloween yet!

Stainless Steel Wipes

Last month, I told you about The Ped Egg.

This month, I HAVE to tell you about my new favorite product.

Weiman's Stainless Steel Wipes. They are the BOMB.

Kevin and I are "nesting". Usually this happens a few weeks before the birth of your child. For us, we didn't nest until this weekend and Claire is already 2.5 weeks old. Better late than never, right?

We decided to deep clean our house. We started with our kitchen Friday night after the girls were in bed and cleaned until 1am. We re-sealed our granite countertops, cleaned the shutters, cleaned the sink and then I decided to try out these stainless steel wipes that I had picked up at Safeway earlier in the week for $4.79

Seriously, I was SHOCKED at how well they worked. My appliances look brand new. I am so happy.

It is a little pathetic how excited I am about these wipes. I need to get out more.

The Ped Egg

I have been "blessed" with rough heels. I have been searching for years to find a pumice stone or something that will help smooth out my heels in the summer months. The only thing that works is getting a pedicure, but my budget doesn't allow that once a week.

This summer, I found the next best thing to a pedicure.
