It's the last Wednesday of the month, that means it's time for our What's Up Wednesday Link Up!

Link up with  me, Sheaffer & Shay the LAST Wednesday of each month so we can read about What's Up with YOU!

Here is what I have been having for breakfast:
 Oatmeal & Fresh Berries:
 Ham & Egg Muffin Cups:

Lunch this week has been chicken salad sandwiches (with tomatoes from my garden)

Saw this & it's SO true!

What I'm Reminiscing about.....
I am  reminiscing about Luke. He turns 3 in just 10 days!!!! What?!?!
These photos turned up in my timehop a few days ago.
I can't believe these were taken 3 years ago, when I was 8 months pregnant with Luke!
See more of the photos {HERE}
It seems like just yesterday, but on the other hand, it feels like Luke has always been here.
Look at baby Luke!!!! Ahhh!!!

 What I'm loving.....
I am LOVING our Rodan + Fields peptide powder.
The powder is so light weight & perfect for summer, especially because it has SPF 20 in it.
When you go outside in the hot weather, it doesn't feel cakey or melt off your face.
It really is awesome.
One of my favorite things about this powder is that you can add it to any of our daytime moisturizers and it will make a tinted moisturizer!!!!!!
I just learned this trick last week from a girl on my team. My mind is blown. This is a life changing hack! I am even more obsessed with this powder...totally my favorite!
My July Special is $20 cash back, 10% off your order, Free Shipping AND a FREE Mineral Peptides Powder for all new preferred customers!!! This ends on FRIDAY!
Our mineral peptides powder comes in 3 shades: light, medium & bronze.
This powder is PERFECT for the summer because it has SPF 20 and it is so lightweight. You don't even feel like you have a powder on & it won't melt off your face like foundation or heavier powders!

We have products for ALL skin types! Wrinkles, Sun Damage, Acne & Sensitive Skin!
Take THIS quick questionairre to find out what is best for your skin!

Email me today to take advantage of this offer & get my July Special!
melissa_larson17@yahoo.com

Also this weekend, I am also placing a bulk order for our sunless tanner (it's back in stock!!!) and our microdermabrassion paste!
I am offering these at a discounted PRICE!
Foaming Tanner- $21
Microdermabrasion Paste-$68
These prices include tax & I will ship them to you for FREE!
For best results I exfoliate my legs with the Microdermabrasion paste first and then use the tanner.
Our Micro-Dermabrasion Paste is a high-glide, oil-free formula designed to promote maximum gentle exfoliation, featuring vitamins C and E. I  use it 2-3 times per week in place of my cleanser. It refreshes and renews the skin’s surface -- then you can follow it with your regular skincare routine.
Helps to enhance cell turnover and improve your skin tone and texture. Gets rid of dry patches you get on elbows, heels, knees & face. One jar lasts me 6 months!
It is perfect for the summer months when the weather is so harsh and your skin takes a beating!
The tanner is foaming, doesn't streak, doesn't turn you orange & smells great! One bottle lasts me 3-4 months!

Email me at: melissa_larson17@yahoo.com or comment below if you want me to add you to the bulk order, and what you want to order!
Like all our products, these come with a 60 day empty bottle 100% money back guarantee!

What We've been up to.....
July has been a BUSY month for us!!!
We have gone to the Fair:
Went on a Wine Stroll with our neighbors:
Going to Lake Tahoe:
Celebrating my dad's birthday!
Our house being under construction for a window & french door replacement:
 Going to Performing Arts Camp:
Finished up our 2nd year of swim team for the girls:

I started training for the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon after not running for almost 10 years.
I am almost 2 weeks into my training & the past few runs have felt good & I am adding more mileage each week.
I am loosely following Hal Higdon's Novice 2 training plan.

What I'm Dreading.....
That school starts in less than a month!!!!!
UGGGGHHHHH!!!!
This summer is going by WAY too quickly & Target has all the school supplies out.
 *SIGH*

What I'm Working On.....
Luke's 3rd Birthday Party!
I finished the invitations this afternoon.
I LOVE how they came out! Luke is obsessed with Firetrucks and thinks he is a firefighter. I can't wait for his party!
Luke's 1st Birthday was a Nautical Theme:

Luke's 2nd Birthday was a Train Theme:
I love throwing parties :)

What I'm Excited About.....
Getting my new boots from the  Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
I have always wanted these ones & now they are on sale, so I got them!!! Eeek

The name is Melissa, it's like they were meant for me ;)

And, getting my boots mean that it's FALL in a few months!!!
I love Fall/Winter clothes! Boots! Jeans! Scarves! Love!

What I'm Watching........
Not much! We don't watch much TV in the summer.
Of course I watched The Bachelorette....was not a fan this season.
Where you Team Nick or Team Shawn?
I was Team "I can't wait for this season to be over"
Can't wait for The Baehelor...I am voting Ben for the next Bachelor!

We are also watching House of Cards. We just started season 2. Season 1 was a little slow for us...it took us almost 2 months to watch (which is a long time for us, LOL!)
We are really liking Season 2 so far!

What I'm Reading.....
I have read several books since our last What's up Wednesday link up!
Left Neglected:

This was a great book (same author of Still Alice)

Sharp Objects:

This book was okay...it was kind of disturbing. Same author of Gone Girl, but this book is even more crazy if you ask me!

Paper Towns:

Same author as Fault in Our Stars. I liked Paper Towns even more!

The Island:

This was a perfect Beach read!

Beautiful Day:

Another great beach read!

11/22/63:

Wow. This book. I LOVED it. It was 850 pages, but I read it the week we were in Tahoe....I stayed up way too late because I couldn't put it down. I was intimidated that it was 850 pages, but I am SO glad I read it. Best book I have read in years. I cried when it ended! Read this book!!!

I just started reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a couple days ago.
It has been slow for me to get into, but I think that's because I'm still sad I finished reading 11/22/63

What I'm Listening to.....
Since I have been running, I have been listening to Today's Hits on Pandora! It is good running music!
Speaking of which....does anyone have any running earbuds they recommend? The ones that came with my iPhone just aren't cutting it...they always fall out when I am running!

My neighbor (who I am running the 1/2 marathon with) has THESE ear buds & swears by them, but I just can't justify spending that much on earphones!!!!
There must be a better option! I just want earbuds that won't fall out!
I would love to know what works for you!

What I'm Wearing.....
Let's be honest....It's summer. I am ultimate lazy when it comes to my wardrobe in the summer.
I wear my bathing suit or yoga pants & a tank top or I wear shorts & a tank top.
I look like a ragamuffin in the summer! Hair in a top knot or a braid with a hat. Flip Flops everyday.

I am all about comfort in the summer! And, being lazy with my clothes!

Now that I am training for the 1/2 marathon, I am also now wearing workout clothes!
I got some cute new running shorts & tank tops:

But, last week my Stitch Fix arrived and it was one of the best ones I have gotten! I loved every single item! So many cute things that I am saving when I go Back to School!

What I’m doing this weekend.....
This weekend I plan on swimming in our pool a lot, reading, Saturday night my friend has her annual summer party, we are also celebrating my sister's birthday. Sunday we have church & then Sunday night we have a meeting for Claire's new soccer team.
Swim team is over, but soccer starts next week! That also means that this weekend I need to take my girls shopping for new soccer cleats since they have grown out of their cleats from last year!

What I'm Looking Forward to next month.....
Next month I am looking forward to Luke's 3rd Birthday!!!
I am also looking forward to the present my mother in law is surprising him with. Eeek!
I am also looking forward to our 13th wedding Anniversary on August 24th!
I am hoping we can go away for a night to celebrate.
I am NOT looking forward to school starting next month, but I do look forward to getting into a routine since we are so lax during summer!

What else is new.....
This past weekend Kate got baptized....but that deserves a post on it's own!
Stay tuned for that tomorrow :)

Question of the month is:
What will you miss most about Summer?
I will miss so much about Summer.....slow mornings, living in pj's & bathing suits, swimming everyday, staying up late, all the fresh fruits & veggies that we eat, no homework, no grading, having all day to hang out with the kids. Sigh.....I love summer. Even though the days can be long & the kids get on each others nerves, I will still miss Summer.

+++++++++++++

  3. We finished all three seasons of House of Cards. It is a slow series and season 3 was, eh? Love all of Hilderbrand's books, especially her newest one, The Rumor!

  4. Thank you so much for hosting! So fun to read everyone's posts!! :) I laughed out loud about the comic about teachers! SO true!! :) I have to admit that I didn't watch this season of the bachelorette at all... the commercials looked way to dramatic! :)
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
    Blessings, Rebecca :)

  5. About the Bose headphones, I LOVE THEM! Especially while running, they've never fallen out. A bonus is that the actual ear bus is sweat/water resistant so they aren't easily ruined! I just bought my boyfriend is second pair after his others lasting him 4 years! I've had mine a year and a half and they still look and feel brand new :)

  6. So guess what I'm doing now? Running a half marathon...haven't run like this since college either. I got inspired by your posts about training so I decided to do a 5K...then my friend called me literally the next day and asked if I'd do a half marathon. I thought what the heck. But I'm regretting it now...my runs have been brutal. I have to do it at 6:30am since it gets over 100 degrees super fast here, so that kills me too. Good luck! Love keeping up.

  8. Sooo glad I found your blog! I love this idea of What's Up Wednesday linkup - such a great way to recap everything. This is one of my favorite posts I've written in a while. I'm a teacher also and I can't believe it's almost time to go back!!! :( Enjoy the last few weeks of summer because the craziness of the school year is right around the corner.

  11. Who is your Stitch Fix stylist? Do you always have the same one? I've had some great fixes, but my most recent one (a maternity box) was awful!

  12. Such a fun read...maybe next month I will join. Yes you need to post the recipe for the corn bacon salad. We are having your shrimp orzo salad this week... Yum!

  14. That tortellini pasta salad looks amazing!! I was also really ready for this season of the Bachelorette to be over. I think Shawn was the better pick for her but I think Nick was the better guy by far! I really didn't like how she handled letting him go at all! My husband and I are getting ready to start on House of Cards! I'm glad to know if we find it slow in the beginning that it will get better!

  16. I am starved and all that food looks amazing! I need to make me some egg muffin cups and start getting my mind right for school to start..boo. Looks like you guys have been soaking up summer and been productive!

  17. Oh, I was Not a fan of Paper Towns. The whole plot seemed pretty ludicrous to me. The whole time I was thinking, "C'mon, really?!" As for Stephen King---rarely does he disappoint but the length of that book definitely scares me. I think it'd take me a year because I just don't get much time to read!

  18. I use these super simple ones from Target. They are just like $20, Sony, and they have these adjustable silicon ear buds. One of my ears I guess is bigger, so I have to use a bigger one in one ear and a smaller one in the other. Weird! They are really good for running and working out! I have bought two pairs of these in the last 8 years and they LAST. Good sound too.

  19. Yurbuds are great and only around $20. Target has them on sale fairly often (Cartwheel too if you use that app).

  20. The ham and egg muffin cups sounds ah-mazing! As does a wine stroll?? Is that sort of like a wine tasting?? Either way sounds perfect. You guys have been a busy bunch!

    ReplyDelete
  21. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was slow for me for at least the first 100 pages. Then I finally got really into it. I love super dark books so I thought Sharp Objects was really good! I love all three of Gillian Flynn's books.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You liked Paper Towns more than Fault in our Stars?! Oh my gosh I DIED reading that book. I've been apprehensive to read Paper Towns because I am terrified to be a crying mess while reading, but I may just have to try it!

  25. I got the same short sleeved green shirt from Stitch Fix and I love it! It looks great with pencil skirts and is so comfortable. And it has some sort of crazy material that soaks up sweat better than Nike Dry Fit, its crazy!

  26. Hi, I can't find the baptism post, so I am not sure if you replied to my question about the sausage. Where do you find the different flavors of sausage? Our family LOVES sausage.
