10 on 10 :: April 2011

Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Today was my last day of Spring Break. *sigh*
Our day started out rushed as both girls slept in until 8:30, but then we had to rush to get to church because I was helping in Claire's Sunday School classroom!
It was a beautiful April day....the hills are still as green as ever, but I know that as the weather warms up & summer approaches, they will start turning brown.
On our way home from church, Kate shows me the art that she made at Sunday School...God's got the whole world in His hands!
The girls having lunch in their new (to us) swing set that some family friends gave us! Kevin & I spent yesterday afternoon staining the wood...it looks as good as new and the girls are thrilled to have a "park" in their backyard!
While taking advantage of the beautiful weather & the girls keeping busy on the play structure, I got to plant some of my annuals. I love zinnias!
We headed to Fairyland for our neighbor's 3rd birthday party.
Kate's favorite part of Fairyland was the funny mirrors!
Kevin building my garden boxes! I can't wait to have a garden in our backyard. Can I get an Amen for home grown tomatoes & veggies!?!?
Our late lunch/early dinner....chicken burritos (I need to post this chicken burrito recipe mixture...so easy! You make it in the crock pot with cream cheese, black beans, corn & rotel. Yum!)
And, a bonus, Kate really wanted to take this picture of me & the necklace she made at Sunday School:
Hope you had a great 10th!
We are off to give the girls baths and have an early bedtime since Spring Break is over & our normal schedule resumes bright & early tomorrow morning!

Edited at 10:30 pm to add:
One of the *many* reasons I love participating in 10 on 10 is to look back on previous years to see what we were doing a year ago on the same day. Tonight, I looked back on April 10, 2010 and it was the day we moved out of our old house & we temporarily moved in with my parents because we hadn't found a new house to buy yet! What a difference a year makes!

  7. These are some of my favorite posts of yours. I love zinnias. I started some from seeds this year--we'll see how they do. My father-in-law is supposed to come over tomorrow to till up a spot in my yard so I can start a garden. My goal this summer is to plant tomatoes, squash, and cantaloupe. Good luck with your garden! Have a great week!
