It's May 1st!
You know what that means....Cinco de Mayo is just 4 days away!
I thought I would share my favorite margarita recipe with you.
It's 90 degrees here today & it's Friday, so you better believe that I will be making some of these this weekend!
Here is what you need:
- 1 (12 oz) container of frozen limeade
- Tequila (Use 6oz-12oz depending on how strong you like them!)
- 1/2 cup of Triple Sec
- 12 oz bottle of Corona
-Fresh limes to garnish
In your blender, empty your frozen limeade:
I pour the tequlia into the empty limeade container...about 3/4 full for us :)
Dump into the blender along with 1/2 cup of triple sec:
Pour half the beer into the blender:
Add ice (I usually fill it up to almost the top of the blender)
Blend it up!
Serve & Enjoy!
You can also make these in a pitcher if you prefer Margaritas on the rocks rather than blended. Just have the limeade thaw for an hour before you make them & put everything in a pitcher & stir it up! Serve over ice. Delicious!

I always garnish with a lime wedge. You also might notice that I don't have my margarita glasses rimmed with salt. I am NOT a fan of salt on my margaritas, so even if we are out to Mexican for dinner, I always get my Margaritas without salt. Feel free to rim your glasses with salt. To each their own :)
This has been our go-to Margarita recipe for over 10 years.
The limeade makes the consistency of the margarita PERFECT.
This makes one batch of margaritas!
Another trick I have for you, is you can make these margaritas ahead of time. Sometimes I make bulk batches and then freeze them.
When we want margaritas, we can take this bag out of the freezer and let it thaw. Squish the bag to break it up & viola! You have margaritas ready to go!
Speaking of Cinco de Mayo...if you are heading to any parties this weekend or need ideas for the 5th, here are some of my go-to Mexican Recipes:
Have a great weekend!
Yum! Love the idea of using limeade for the margaritas!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I don't like salt on my margaritas either!
DeleteMany years ago, my husband and I used to make margaritas just like this! He always liked the salt and I do NOT like it. I had forgotten all about this way of doing margaritas. I am going to have to go pull up my recipes now. :)
ReplyDeletethose sound great!! And I am not a fan of salt, either! Yet, most waiters forget my request so I make my husband remove it for me :P
