Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was jam packed full of fun.
It is the weekend in between Kevin's birthday and my birthday, so we always try and do something fun to celebrate our birthdays! And fun we had! We headed to San Francisco for a Giants game!
My older sister hooked us up with awesome tickets to the Giants game...3 rows behind home plate!
Seriously the best seats we have ever sat in. I love AT&T Park, such a fun venue.
So fun seeing the players so close up.
I am totally going to get these shirts for my girls. Ha! Check out this orange Giants SUV we saw in the parking lot. My nephew would love a car like this! Ha!
We also had our Wine Group over this weekend for a wine tasting party.
We stated a wine group 8 years ago with 5 other couples. It was before any of us had kids.
We would meet every other month and have a specific variety of wine, from a specific region that you needed  to bring. Each month was a different theme. We do a blind tasting & then rank the wines, etc. It is SO fun (I should do a whole post on how to throw a wine tasting party...so much fun!)
Anyways, our wine group hadn't meet in a few years because we have all been busy having kids, moving, etc. But, wine group is BACK! I love this group.

 Yummy Appetizers.
The ladies:

If you are tasting red wine, you need CHOCOLATE!
Such a fun night!

Our friends surprised us & showed up with donuts.

We then headed to Kevin's parents for brunch to celebrate our birthdays!

Our Birthday Cake...Mud Pie Oreo Ice Cream Cake! YUM!
It was great weekend, a busy weekend & a fun weekend!

What Saturday Mornings Look Like

Saturday mornings *might* be my most favorite time of the week.
I think this is because both Kevin & I are working parents, so Saturday mornings symbolize sleeping later and not having any where to go.
We LOVE unscheduled Saturday mornings.
In the Fall, Kate played soccer, so for a few weeks, she had games on Saturday mornings.
This Spring she played T-Ball, so for the past couple months have had games on Saturday mornings.
But now, the season is over, so we are back to our regularly scheduled lazy Saturday mornings & I love them. I cherish these lazy Saturday mornings and I know when my kids are grown, I will look back on these Saturdays with fondness.

Here is what our lazy Saturdays look like....
It really starts off on Friday night, when Kevin & I set up the girls cereal on the kitchen table.
On Friday night we set out a bowl of cereal for each of the girls.
We started doing this about a year ago & it has bought us at least another 30 minutes of sleep on Saturday mornings.
In the fridge, we have 2 glasses of milk poured so that in the morning they can reach their milk & pour it into their cereal. (We aren't winning any Parents of the Year awards here....but this is what we do)
After the girls have their cereal, they usually come back upstairs & jump in our bed. We watch Yard Crashers. They love it & so do we!
Then, Luke usually wakes up, so I nurse him. After I finish nursing, we all head downstairs.
While he snacks on Cheerios, the coffee is brewing.
Coffee. My BFF.  Can't function without it.
(LOVE my Anthropologie mug. LOVE.

On Saturday mornings, I like to make fun breakfasts, like cinnamon rolls, coffee cake or my Monkey Bread.
 My helpers:
 Yum.
Kevin is usually in the backyard mowing the lawn or doing yard work:
While the fun breakfast is in the oven, we watch The Pioneer Woman.
Every.Single.Saturday.
The girls LOVE this show. They call it "Charlie The Ranch Dog"
I *try* to catch up on laundry on Saturdays, so there is always a load of clean laundry on the couch that I fold while we watch.
Love these lazy mornings.
Monkey Bread ready to eat.
After we eat our "Fun" Breakfast, the girls usually color.
I know once the kids are older we won't have lazy Saturday mornings like this because we will have activities, sports, etc.
Our Saturday mornings in the Summertime look a little different, we usually walk or ride bikes downtown to Starbucks, the bagel shop or the Farmers Market.

I really do cherish these lazy Saturdays during the school year when we have no morning plans & can spend the morning at home in our pj's :)

Hope you are having a great Saturday & having a great start to the 3 day weekend.
I am thankful for those who sacrificed their lives protecting our country.

What do your Saturday mornings usually look like?

P.S.
I am LOVING all your responses/votes on this post for what dress I should wear to the wedding next month.
I will ABSOLUTELY let you guys know which ones I order. Maybe I will try them on & have you vote on the finalists :)
This morning I saw this one that is now almost half off. I might need to add it to the list!
I'm going order dresses later on this weekend! Thanks for your input!

Weekend Fun

This weekend had me longing, dreaming and pinning for summer.
The weather was gorgeous (as it has been for the past 5 weeks)
We have been so spoiled in California this Spring.
The highlight of our weekend was celebrating Kevin's birthday!
Coffee & Presents in bed!
Cinammon Rolls for breakfast:
 Celebrating Daddy:
Trying out the new sandwich shop in town. I got a BBQ chicken sandwich. SO good.

Cheering on Kate at her softball Game:
Then it was date night! Kevin wanted to ride our bikes downtown for drinks & dinner.
(Also....LOVE my cropped jeans. Got them here)

SO much fun.
We are declaring this Summer the summer of bike riding. And we want to ride our bikes into town as much as possible.
After dinner, we picked up a movie (Silver Lining Playbook) and some gelato.
We also watched The Office Series Finale on Saturday night. I had Open House for School on Thursday Night, so didn't watch it then.
I thought the last episode was perfect. I laughed, I cried.
Great way to end it. (Unlike the Seinfled Series Finale...lamest finale in TV history and Friends was the BEST finale in TV history)
The Office has been such a great show. I will miss watching it on Thursday nights.

Sunday was spent going to church, a little gardening...
And, then spending the afternoon by the pool.
It was such a great weekend and I am counting down the days until the lazy days of summer. It can't come soon enough!

Here are the THREE winners of the Totally Desperate Mom Book Giveaway!

Congrats Lisa,  Esther and Haley!

Leave me a comment with your email & I will get you hooked up with your books!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
