Kate's Ice Skating Party

Last weekend we had Kate's 10th Birthday party.
Kate loves Ice Skating & wanted to go Ice Skating for her party.
She wanted the colors to be purple, aqua & silver glitter.
Here is the invite:
We had the first 2 hours of the party at a local Ice Skating Rink:

 Kate loves ice skating.
Then, after Ice Skating we headed back to our house for snacks, pizza & cake!
Kate & I attempted to turn our house into a winter wonderland.
I had the leftover purple chevron fabric from Kate's 6th birthday party :)
Kate helped me with the decorations & I loved how they turned out.
I got the hanging snowflakes here.
Here is the menu we had for the party:
Veggies & Hummus:

Fruit Cups:

Cheese Pizza:

Pepperoni Pizza:

For drinks we had Blue Frost & Melted Snow (both Gatorade)

I made name drink tags for all the girls & put them on mason jars:
I've had these mason jar lids for several years & they always come in handy at parties.

I also had a Hot Cocoa Bar:

I had Hot Cocoa along with fun toppings:

White & milk Chocolate Chips, Sprinkles, mini marshmallows & whipped cream:

Who doesn't love Hot Cocoa?

 And my favorite....the dessert table!

Another amazing cake that my Mother In Law made...

Seriously...isn't my mother in law amazing?

She made the laces out of fondant.

I had other treats as well...

Other treats I had were "Snow Puffs"
Dipped Marshmallows with sprinkles:
I got the straws here.
Snowballs (donut holes)
I got the toppers here:
Vanilla Cupcakes (I got the fondant toppers here)
Powdered Donuts with these ice skating picks:
I put together as a center piece instead of a floral centerpiece:
For favors, I did what I normally do...Sugar Cookies!

 I made this sign....love a play on words :)
I think the cookies turned out so cute!
There were 2 snowflake designs & 2 ice skate designs.
Kate had so much fun at her party....that is what it's all about!
Can't believe she is 10 years old!!!

Nutella Pizza + A Giveaway!

In 2016 I posted a new pizza recipe every month.
I LOVE pizza & I could eat it everyday.
Last Christmas I got THIS pizza maker which enabled my pizza habit.
(It is on sale HERE for 50% off!!!!!! Under $100...I have never seen it priced this low!)

You don't need the pizza maker (you can use your oven) but I am letting you know that using this pizza maker gives your pizza an authentic pizzeria taste!

For the past year, I have been sharing a new pizza recipe every month.
All 11 of the pizza recipes that I shared last year were for the main course, so I decided it was time to share a dessert pizza recipe!

A few months ago, for Friday Night Pizza Night, I ordered pizza from one of our local pizzerias and I noticed they had a Nutella Pizza in their dessert section.
You better believe I ordered it!
I had never heard of a Nutella Pizza & I couldn't wait to try it.
It was AMAZING.
Kate and I practically fought over the last slice (She is my chocolate lover)
It was a pizza that was covered in Nutella and the topped with fresh cut strawberries.
I knew that because I have my pizza maker
I could easily recreate this pizza....and I did. And, it is delicious & so incredibly easy to make.
It is the perfect pizza to share with you guys as a finale to my Year of  Pizza Recipes!

Nutella Pizza:
Here is what you need:
  • Pizza Dough  (I use the pre-made fresh dough from Trader Joe's or Safeway)
  •  About 1/4 cup Nutella
  • Sliced Strawberries
  • Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Roll out your dough.
If using the Pizza maker, I split the dough in half and then roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface & then I put my dough on a piece of parchment paper.
I cook it on the parchment paper for a few minutes because then I can slide the pizza off the parchment paper without messing up the crust or making all the toppings slide off. I like cooking it without the parchment paper because then it gives the crust a pizzeria taste! If I had a pizza peel, I wouldn't need to have the parchment paper because then I would have the pizza peel to transfer the pizza to and from the pizza cooker...but I don't have one of those yet.

Bake the dough in your pizza oven for 12-15 minutes or until it is light brown.
If using an oven, bake it at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Once it is done cooking, take it out & spread on the Nutella.

The Nutella spreads on the warm crust very easily.....yum!
After you have spread on the Nutella, add your sliced strawberries to the top:
Then sprinkle with powdered sugar:

Powdered sugar makes everything better ;)
I store some powdered sugar in this canister...makes it so easy to dust things with powdered sugar:

Look at all that goodness.....
Slice it up & Enjoy!
My kids love this Nutella Pizza....wouldn't it be perfect to make Valentine's Day? So festive!
As Kate was finishing up her slice, she said that next time we should add fresh raspberries to it along with the strawberries.
I said we could also add sliced bananas!
Wouldn't that be delicious? Fresh strawberries, fresh raspberries & sliced bananas! YUM!
Of course Claire chimed in that we could also add mini marsmallows & mini chocolate chips.
I think adding any of those would be great!
That is the beauty of this Nutella pizza....you can add whatever toppings you want!
This is a great addition to our Friday Night Pizza night....Nutella Pizza for dessert!
