Smoothies are one of my favorite after school snacks.
They are easy & healthy to make and they give me energy to make it to dinner without a lot of snacking. It's a great way to get some protein along with fruits & veggies.
I keep bags of frozen fruit in our freezer for smoothies (or to make pies).
I don't usually have a "recipe" that I follow when I make smoothies, I just throw a bunch of fruit/yogurt/greens into the blender and call it a day.
But, I kept finding myself making this same combo for a few weeks straight, so I thought I would share it with you because it is super healthy for you & you can't even taste the green veggies in it!
After you blend it up, it is green, so I thought I would share it in honor of St. Patty's Day tomorrow :)
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen peaches
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
2 handfuls of fresh spinach/kale (I like using Trader Joe's Power to the greens mix)
1/2 cup frozen peaches
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
2 handfuls of fresh spinach/kale (I like using Trader Joe's Power to the greens mix)
1 (5oz) container of greek yogurt (I used non fat vanilla greek yogurt)
1/4 cup crushed ice (add more/less for desired consistency)
***Add Protein Powder is you want more protein****
1/4 cup crushed ice (add more/less for desired consistency)
***Add Protein Powder is you want more protein****
Directions:
It's really hard to make ;)
Add all the ingredients to the blender:
Blend until smooth:
If you want to make it less thick, you can add a splash of water.
This makes one 16 oz smoothie or two 8oz smoothies.
If you want to add protein powder to your smoothie, you can do that also.
I love that this smoothie is packed full of greens, but you can't even taste them!
I hope you love this smoothie as much as I do!
If you want another smoothie recipe, this is my other go-to smoothie:

Mel, I am not a banana person. Do you have any go to smoothie recipes that do not have banana in them?
