The Best Banana Bread

I don't know about you, but I am a carb junkie.
And, I especially love bread.
Last week we had to move into my parents house for a few days while our house construction was finished. (Before & After pics coming soon!) When we got back to our house, all my bananas were over ripe, so it was the perfect time to make Banana Bread. This is another recipe from my amazing Grammy.

Here is my recipe for:
The BEST Banana Bread
Here is what you need:
-2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
-1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter (softened to room temperature)
-3/4 cup brown sugar
-2 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/2 cups overripe mashed bananas (about 4 bananas depending on size)

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt:
In a different bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar & butter. Cream together.
Add in your mashed bananas. Then mix in the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
Pour mixture into a 9x5 loaf pan. (I spray my pan with Pam cooking spray)
**If you want to make chocolate chip banana bread, add 1 cup of chocolate chips to the batter. Or, if you like nuts, add in 1/2 cup nuts.**
Bake at 350 for 60-65 minutes until the top in lightly brown & the center of the loaf comes out clean)
This is seriously the yummiest & easiest banana bread. Super moist & delicious.
I am all about homemade breads.

Our family of 4 will devour an entire loaf of this banana bread within 24 hours.
Hope you like it! Happy Baking!

  1. Thank you! I have some ripe bananas that I need to do something with. I was just thinking I needed to find a good banana bread recipe. I'll definitely try it out! I like that the recipe is simple. Last time I even attempted banana bread, I goofed and left out the eggs AND sugar (of all things!)... hubby named it the "banana brick" and I have yet to live it down!

  11. I tried this out and omg it's so yummy, my 1 year old also got to try her first sweet bread and she loved it too. I had to change it a bit since we are allergic to eggs, i just used a teaspoon of baking soda instead of each egg and added a tablespoon of oil. Still great! Really lived it, i have never had banana bread before (its not common in sweden) but i will make this again and again. Thanks fir sharing!
