The 2011 Summer List

Summer has officially begun & I am LOVING it.
As soon as the weekend began, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted.
No school for 2.5 months. Hooray!

I love the lazy days of summer.
This summer I was very intentional about our schedule. It is very un-scheduled.
We have a couple trips planned, but day to day is very wide open (besides swim lessons).
I kept it unscheduled on purpose...I want to have the freedom and flexibility of having lots of hang out time with the girls & with friends. Impromptu playdates & pool parties? Bring them on!

We made a Summer List last year and I plan on making one every summer!
It makes me be a little more intentional with our summer and I love lists....it feels SO good to cross things off lists!
Kate's excitement when I told her I didn't have to go to work for over 2 months!
Kate and I made the Summer List again this year while Claire was napping.
Claire + Sharpies = Not a good idea.
We came up with some fun ideas for this summer.
Check it out:
Can't wait to get some of these crossed off!
My personal favorites that she added are:
- Help Claire share
- Teach Claire the ABC's

When Claire woke up we asked her what she wanted to put on the summer list.
Claire's Summer List:
1. Go to Mimi's
2. Go to Grandma's
3. Go Swimming
4. Meet Belle

I think Summer 2011 is going to be a good one!

10 on 10 :: June 2011

Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

ten on ten button small

It's the 10th of June!
Also known as my last day of school!!!!
Students finished yesterday and the last day for teachers was today.
Both girls slept in until after 8 today....let's hope they keep that up the rest of the summer!
(I can dream, right?!?!)
We had a staff breakfast to kick off our Teacher Work Day, and we celebrated the end of school with mimosas!
Then I headed back to school to clean up my classroom & take down projects from this year's students. This is a Tessellation project that I do the at the end of the school year:

When I got home, Claire wanted to play Marching Band:
Kate's block tower....the girl LOVES to play with blocks:
Because the girls slept in so late, they didn't fall asleep during "room time", so per tradition, we headed into town to look at the Grad Night at a local high school:
When we got home, it was snack time. This is the girls favorite snack.
Apple slices, Ritz crackers and peanut butter with sprinkles on top.
Getting my empty jars ready to make some more Homemade Strawberry Jam!
While watering our garden, Kate & I noticed we have our very first tomato!
It's tiny & it's green....but that means tomatoes are on their way!
Guess who fell asleep on the ottoman? At 5:00pm?
Kate thought that called for some Bunny Ears.
Sisterly Love, right there.
Happy 10th.
Happy Friday.
Happy Summer!!!!!

We are headed out to dinner to celebrate school being out for Summer!!!!!!!!!
I am so, so, so, SO excited that Summer is here!

Also, I wanted to let you know about
SHOP for JOP

As most of you know, there was a tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri a few weeks ago.
My friend Wendy is having a Shop for Jop Fundraiser on her blog because her cousins lost their home in the tornado.
Devastating. All of their possessions gone.
Myself and several other Etsy shops will be donating a percentage of our sales this week for Joplin relief.

If you need birth announcements, shower invites or birthday party invites from me, buy them this week for 2 reasons:

1. 50% of my sales this week will go toward Shop for Jop.
2. My Etsy shop will be closing on June 15th for Summer Break!
So, if you need invites, etc....get them ordered this week!
