Last year on my personal Facebook, everyday in November, I posted each day what I was thankful for.
I loved it so much, I decided to post it again. Thought I would share them here also!
It was great taking time each day to list something to be thankful for. Big things & little things!
It was great taking time each day to list something to be thankful for. Big things & little things!
*************
Day 1: Today I am thankful that today was a Staff
Development Day. Every teacher out there knows that school the day after
Halloween is ROUGH. Kids have candy hangovers. Thankful I didn't have
to deal with that today, but instead got to use the day for Common Core
Unit Planning. Very productive day.
Day
2: Today I am thankful that all 3 of my kids were in bed & sound
asleep by 8pm. (And keeping my fingers crossed they adapt to the time
change & don't wake up too early tomorrow!)
Day
3: Today I am thankful for our church. I've been going there
basically my whole life and it has been a huge part in growing my
relationship with God and shaping who I am today.
Day 4: Today I am thankful for Anna-Karin.
She moved next door when I was 10. We have gone to elementary school,
middle school, high school & college together. Got married within 2
months of each other & had kids
around the same time. Today is her birthday! I am so thankful she was
born! Happy, Happy, Birthday Anna-Karin..my kind, thoughtful & loyal
BFF. Please move back to California.
Day
5: Today I am thankful for my mom who watches my kids 3 mornings a week
& for my mother in law who watches them 2 mornings a week while I am
teaching. They have done this since Kate was born almost 7 years ago. I
am so, so, so thankful they do this for us & don't take that for
granted.
Day
6: Today I am thankful that my camera is back from the shop & fixed.
After taking almost 107,000 photos in 4 years, the shutter stopped
working. Thankful I found a guy who would fix it for under $200 and that
my camera is back in my hands & working great.
Day 7: Today I am thankful for Pumpkin Ice Cream from Trader Joes. So good.
Day 8: Today I am thankful it's Friday and a 3 day weekend!
Day 9: Today I am thankful for our sweet
Luke. He is 15 months old today. So glad our lives were interrupted 15
months ago with this amazing little guy. I can't imagine our family
without him. He is a complete joy!
Day 10. Today, I am thankful we had our annual family photos taken. Thankful for Monika McSweeney Photography putting up with our crazy family & for her daughter taking a fun behind the scenes video. Can't wait to see the pics!
You can see the video HERE
Day
11: Today (and everyday) I am thankful for those who serve in our
military and fight for our freedom. Thank you, Veterans (and families)
for your sacrifice. Home of the FREE because of the BRAVE.
Day 12: Today I am thankful that my friend Bridgette
encouraged me to become a consultant with Rodan + Fields. I am totally
stepping out of my comfort zone by selling them. I am not a "sales
person" by nature, but I totally stand
by these products! I have been using R+F for over 14 months and my skin
has never felt better! You can check out my website HERE.
Day
13: Today I am thankful for my sweet, sassy & stubborn Claire. She
is funny, nurturing & loves deeply. She is the most challenging of
our 3 & she gives me a run for my money. Today was our teacher
conference for her and her teacher had nothing but wonderful things to
say about and that she was a great listener & rule follower (Doesn't
listen at home, but glad she listens at school!)So THANKFUL she is on
her best behavior at school and that she loves TK. And, I am thankful
for the ways Claire stretches & grows me as a mom.
Day
14: Today I am thankful it FINALLY feels like Fall in the Bay Area. I
am loving all the red, orange & yellow leaves that are everywhere.
So beautiful. And, there is pumpkin bread baking in my oven. Yay, Fall!
Day
15: Today I am thankful for Friday Night Pizza Night. I love to cook
& I make dinner every night during the week, but since Kate was
born, I declared Friday Night as Pizza Night. So thankful that I haven't
cooked on a Friday night in almost 7 years!
Day
16: Today I am thankful for the University of Colorado, Boulder. Playing
soccer and getting my college education at CU were 4 of the greatest
years of my life. I am thankful for my teammates, coaches, fellow
athletes, professors, roommates & friends who made my experience at
CU so memorable. Part of my heart will always be in Colorado. (And, I am
extra thankful that today, CU finally won it's first Pac 12 football
game of the season against Cal) Go BUFFS!
Day
17: Today I am thankful that I have my voice back!!! I had laryngitis
for the past 4 days & couldn't talk. No voice at all. If you know
me, you know I am a very talkative (and sometimes loud) person, having
no voice (especially as a teacher) has been rough. So happy it's back!
Although, I am not so sure Kevin would say the same thing ;)
Day
18: Today I am thankful that I am caught up on laundry. Every single
article of clothes our family has (besides what we are wearing today) is
washed, folded AND put away. Laundry baskets are empty. It's a miracle.
Don't know when that last time that has happened (if ever!)
Day 19: Today I am thankful that it's finally raining. I LOVE this weather!
Day 20: Today I am thankful for our town.
Growing up here, I always complained that it was SO boring here &
couldn't wait to move away. When I went off to college, I realized how
lucky I was to grow up in such a neat
little town. It's beautiful, the community is wonderful, schools awesome
and we are just a quick drive to the city, wine country, the beach or
the mountains. I am thankful that I am able to live here as an adult
& my kids here.
Day
21: Today I am thankful for my mom. I am thankful for everything she has
done & does for us. Today is her birthday & I am so thankful
she was born. Happy Birthday, Mom!
Day
22: Today I am thankful for my Kate. She is the sweetest 6 year old I
know. She has a heart of gold. She is patient & kind. I am thankful
for her love of school. Today after school, she started doing "pretend"
homework because she was going to miss going to school all next week.
She is the best role model to her younger siblings & so helpful. It
is an honor being her mom.
Day
23: Today I am thankful for my sisters. I am so lucky that they are 2 of
my best friends. Don't know what I would do without them!
Day 24: Today I am thankful that my college roommate Brittany, her husband Mikey
came to visit us from Boston. I finally got to meet their beautiful 7
month old baby girl. My kids love having them stay with us. We had so
much tonight eating Mexican food, drinking Coors light & watching
the Broncos play. It reminded me of our college days.
Day
25: Today I am thankful for a week off school for Thanksgiving Break. We
have had a nice relaxing day at home hanging out in our jammies until
noon. So needed!
Day 26: Today I am thankful for coffee. Can't function without it. Can I get an Amen?
Day 27: Today I am thankful that I am going to have another nephew or niece in May! Congrats to my younger sister Rebecca & my brother in law Jason on Baby #2.
So excited to be an Auntie again!
So excited to be an Auntie again!
Day 28: Today I am thankful for Kevin.
He is an amazing husband & father. So thankful he puts up with me
& my craziness. I am thankful for this life we have together and
for our 3 amazing kids.
#blessed
Day 29: Today I am thankful for our home. Not necessarily the actual
house, but more importantly the court we live on. Last night I had a
dream that we sold our house and I was panicking in my dream because I
was going to miss our neighbors so much. I woke up in a panic and
thankful that was a dream. I love our house, but I REALLY love my
neighbors and our neighborhood. I think we live on one of the greatest
courts in America. Thankful to call this our forever house.
Day 30: Today I am thankful for the Internet. How did we survive without it?
Even though there is a lot of negativity that can happen online, I
think the good outweighs the bad. I am thankful for the awesome parts of
the internet...google, webmd, blogs, Pinterest &
Facebook.
I have seen first hand how awesome Facebook can be with
bringing people together.
I am
especially thankful for my Facebook friends. Last December we
helped raise thousands of dollars in gift cards after the Sandy Hook
shootings for my friend who lives in Newtown, CT. And, this summer my high school classmates raised over $3,000 for our fellow classmate after her 6 month old son died of heart complications.
I am especially thankful for the Internet so that I can shop online & not drag my 3 crazy kids to the mall. I am thankful for awesome Cyber Monday deals that help me finish up all my Christmas shopping! Here are some of my favorites listed below:
