Princess Party

On Saturday one of Kate's best buddies Taylor turned 3 & had a Cinderella Princess party.
All girls were to come dressed up in princess dresses (so FUN!)

We have several hand-me-down dresses & tutu's but Kate really isn't that into dress-up.
(Remind me to tell you about Kate & the Old Navy Tiger Halloween costume sometime...)
But, for this party, Kate was SO excited to wear her princess dress. And, even more excited that Claire got to dress up also.
Kate has never seen a Disney princess movie, so she had no idea who Cinderella was. That all changed on Saturday. Cinderella was at the party!

The Birthday Girl with Cinderella:
Clasping their hands like proper princesses:
The girls got to make crowns:
Claire had fun playing peek a boo while the bigger girls did their craft:
Claire Bear!
Cinderella read the girls the story of Cinderella:
Kate sat & listened for a few minutes:
Then she decided she would rather play than sit & listen to a story, she's outta there!
She wanted to play baseball instead!
As an athlete, this makes me so proud :)
And, Claire would rather get dirty & play in the sand box.
This should make Kevin happy. Girls who like to play sports & aren't afraid to get dirty!
Cinderella then did face painting for all the girls. I didn't think that Kate would want her face painted since she didn't let my aunt paint her face at her Carnival birthday party in January!
But to my surprise, Kate walked over & sat down & asked for a flower on her face!
She LOVED it!
She even sat on Cinderella's lap! I wonder if this means Kate won't do this again for Santa or the Easter Bunny. Can't wait to find out in a few months.
Maybe her fear of people in costumes over?
A happy little girl with a flower on her face!
She kept showing everyone at the party her flower. She was so proud of it. She wasn't happy when I washed it off in the bath that night.
Addison, Taylor & Kate taking a break to enjoy their lollipops!
I went to middle school & high school with both Addison & Taylor's mom. It is fun to be in the same area & have girls the same age! We wish Shannon would move back from Maryland so we could hang out with her & her girls more!
Kate had a blast at the Cinderella party & has been talking about Cinderella for the past few days.
Guess what we movie we are going to rent for her this weekend?

  3. That Cinderella looks like Jenna Elfman. The picture of Kate in the princess outfit with the ball and bat in her hand is AWESOME. :)
