Happy Friday!

How about some random for your Friday?
{ONE}
Today is my little sister's 30th Birthday!
I can't believe she is now the big 3-0.
Happy Birthday, Becks! I am so glad you were born.
I am so thankful to have you as a sister and as one of my best friends.
I got her a blardigan for her birthday.
She saw me wearing mine all Christmas break and wanted one.
You should get one also...so cozy and warm!

It is FINALLY raining here in California.

In 2013, we got a total of 4 inches of rain.
The lowest in the history of the Bay Area.
We were on drought alert and our water is going to be on ration if we don't get a lot rain ASAP.
Well, it finally rained yesterday and today....and it is supposed to rain all weekend.
I am so happy. I love rain!!!

Tonight was Taco Bingo Night at the girls school.
They have it every year.
A taco truck & then there is Bingo for the whole family.
It got a little intense, but it was SO fun.
A few of my friends and I decided after tonight that we are going to go find Bingo night at one of the local Country Clubs so we can play Bingo with all the old people :)
Bingo is fun, I am vowing to play more Bingo in 2014 :)

The Winter Olympics.
Ahhhh.....I love me some Olympics.
When I was in high school, my parents took my sisters and I to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Such an amazing experinece. I blogged about it {here}
Since I have gone to a Summer Olympics, it is on my Bucket List to go to a Winter Olympics.
Whenever the Olympics are on, we watch EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT.
It really destroys my bedtime because I stay up even later watching all the Olympic coverage.
I was so excited for the Opening Ceremonies tonight.
We rushed home from Taco Bingo Night to watch them :)
Can we talk about Team USA's Opening Ceremony sweaters?
{source: Google Images}

No. Just No.
I am sorry, but Ralph Lauren REALLLLLLY dropped the ball on these sweaters.
They looked like something I would wear to a Tacky Sweater Christmas Party.
And, if the sweaters weren't ugly enough, they all wore white turtlenecks with them. Really?!?!
Yikes.

I am always excited to watch the Opening Ceremonies, but then about 2 hours into the 4 hour event, my ADD kicks in and I am like, can we please just light the flame please? Ha!
I did think the flame lighting for this Olympics was cool, I really like how the flame is outside the arena and all the fireworks were really beautiful! I got the chills watching the flame being lit...there is just something so magical about the Olympics.

Did you watch the Opening Ceremonies?
What did you think?
What events are you most looking forward to?
I can't wait for ice skating, speed skating & the luge!

  1. I said the exacts same thing about Team USA's sweaters...like they were for an ugly Christmas sweater party! My husband thought maybe they were going for the ironic, hipster look :)

  2. I heard on the news, you can purchase your own ugly, Christmas "olympic" sweater for only $600! Unreal!

  3. I always watch! Nothing has beat the Bejing opening in my opinion, however, it was still beautiful! We didn't make it to the lighting if the flame.. My 9 month old still isn't sleeping through the night so we went to bed when she did, plan to watch it today. I can't wait for ice skating and speed skating!

  4. I thought the same thing when Team USA came out and busted out laughing!

  5. I thought that the opening ceremonies were amazing - the floating scenes at the beginning…Swan Lake…the ballerinas…most beautiful OC that I have ever seen. Lighting of the torch was meh, ever since the guy shot the flaming arrow to start the Games, nothing can compare. Coop has been wearing his official Olympics hat all week and he has an app to keep track of the medals!

  6. Loved the rain this weekend! It was much needed.

    Yes we watched the opening ceremonies and loved them. We have been staying up way to late watching them.
