What's Up Wednesday :: September 2018

It's the last Wednesday of the month, that means it's time for our What's Up Wednesday Link Up!

Link up with  me, Sheaffer & Shay the LAST Wednesday of each month so we can read about What's Up with YOU!

Here we go!
What We’re Eating this week.....
It may be the first week of Fall, but here in California it's in the 90's still, so this week we are still BBQing and eating Summer Dinners outside.

Monday:
BBQ Cheeseburgers, Sweet Potato Fries & Watermelon

Tuesday:
Taco Tuesday....Instant Pot Dr Pepper Shredded Pork Tacos!

Wednesday:
Fiesta Stuffed Bell Peppers

Thursday:
Instant Pot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches

Friday:
Friday Night Pizza Night!

I am also making Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins for an easy after school snack for my kids!  The hot weather turned my bananas brown, so it's muffin time!

Because it's September....Apple season...I am making my Apple Crisp this week.
Once October hits, it's all about pumpkin, so I am savoring our last few days of Apple season :)

What I'm Reminiscing about.....
A year ago this weekend, our niece got married.

The kids loved being in their cousins wedding.

It was so fun.
It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to.
 Happy Anniversary Logan & Megan!

 What I'm loving.....
Colorado Football is undefeated so far this season!

We play UCLA this Friday night.
Go Buffs!!!!

What We've been up to.....
September was a busy & fun month!
Claire turned 10 and we celebrated with a Unicorn Pool Party!!.

Kevin & I went to New Orleans.

I'm working on that post so I can share what we did and were we ate!

Can't wait to tell you all about it!
What I'm Dreading.....
The weather this week....in the 90's!!!
97 Degrees today. UGH.
Gotta love "Fall" in California.
I just want to wear Jeans & Booties.

What I'm Listening to.....

What I'm Wearing.....
 Rothy's!!!!!!
I think in the month of September I've worn them everyday to work except once!

I have 2 pairs of the pointed tow version...the Cloud Gray Birdseye and the Solid Black.
They are made from recycled water bottles!
They come in tons of colors and 4 different styles.
I love the pointed toe version, but they also come in rounded toe, loafer or sneakers.
They just now started carrying kids sizes.

It feels like I am wearing slippers.
And, the insoles are machine washable!
I recommend sizing up 1/2 a size.

Click HERE for $20 off your first pair of Rothy's!

What I’m doing this weekend.....
Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!
Both girls have a soccer tournament and will have 3, possibly 4 games EACH.
And, Luke has a soccer game.
I had to make a little spreadsheet & text it to Kevin so that we know how to divide & conquer.
I am coaching Claire's team & he is coaching Luke's so it adds to the craziness.
We love it though!

What I'm Looking Forward to next month.....
Decorating for Fall. I am weird and don't decorate for Fall until October 1st.
It's still so hot here in September, so I wait until October to decorate.
It just doesn't feel right having pumpkins out when it's 90+ degrees.
I am probably the only blogger out there who feels this way. Ha!
I really should live on the East Coast where there is a real Fall.

What else is new.....

2018 Fall TV Line Up!

One of my favorite things about the Fall is the new Fall TV schedule comes out!
Shows have their season premiers and we find out what new shows are premiering.
No more re-runs.
We get to find out what happened in our favorite shows after months since the Season Finales!
This week is Fall Premiere week! It starts tonight...get your DVR's ready!
I get so excited when they announce the new shows & the Fall TV Premiere dates...this week is when most of the new shows are premiering!

What I love to do at the end of the day is just sit down with a glass of wine & zone out in front of the TV.
How about you?
Get ready.....Let's talk TV!

Monday:
Monday Night Football
I LOVE Monday Night Football!

Kevin Can Wait was the past 2 years on Mondays, but it got cancelled, so no more Kevin Can Wait.

I always watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette on Mondays, but that doesn't start until January, so the only thing I will be watching this Fall is Monday Night Football.

New shows on Mondays I want to check out (these 2 premier next Monday)
The Neighborhood
Here's the excerpt about it:
When Dave Johnson and his family arrive from Michigan, they're unfazed that their new dream home is located in a community quite different from their previous small town. However, their opinionated next-door neighbor Calvin Butler is wary of the newcomers, certain that they'll disrupt the culture on the block. Dave realizes that fitting in with the new community is more complex than he had expected, but if he can find a way to connect with Calvin, there's an excellent chance of making the new neighborhood a great place to live.

Happy Together:

Here is the excerpt:
Happily married Jake and Claire don't seem to have many complaints, and they seem to get more enjoyment out of Saturday nights spent binge-watching TV shows than they would partying until dawn at the hottest clubs. That all changes when a client of Jake's accounting firm -- who is also one of the world's most well-known pop stars -- decides to hide out at their house for a few days. Once he moves in, Cooper helps the couple reconnect with their younger, cooler selves, leading everyone to believe this unconventional living arrangement might just be the best thing to happen to all three of them.

Tuesday:
THIS IS US!!!!
AHHHHHH!!!!!
BEST SHOW EVER.

New shows on Tuesdays I will check out:
 New Amsterdam
It's time slot is right after This is Us and it's a medical drama (who doesn't love those)
I watched the trailer here and it looks like it could be good!

Wednesday:
We like The Goldbergs....can't believe it's Season 6!
New shows on Wednesdays I will check out:

Single Parents:
 Here is the excerpt:
Dysfunctional single parents lean on each other as they try to raise their kids, look for love and ultimately realize survival is only possible with the help of one another.

  A Million Little Things.
Here's the excerpt about it:
This show follows a group of friends from Boston who bonded under unexpected circumstances: they were stuck in an elevator together. Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. After one of them dies unexpectedly, it's just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way, they discover that friends may be the one thing to save them from themselves.

Thursday:
Thursday night  is PACKED with AMAZING shows!!
TGIT is for real!
A couple of years ago I started watching Grey's Anatomy on Netfllx for the first time ever.
LOVE it. Now I watch on it on Thursdays.
I really liked seasons 1 & 2 and I am making myself continue to watch it because I need to see how everything plays out!
Let's take a moment of silence for Scandal ending last year. I really liked that show.
On Thursdays, The Good Place is also on!
I started watching this show when it first came out because my friend from high school D'Arcy plays Janet. I am so proud of her & all her success with this show.
Seasons 1 & 2 are on Netflix, so if you haven't seen it, you can catch up.

New Shows on Thursdays I will check out:
I Feel Bad:

Here is the excerpt:
Emet is the perfect mom, boss, wife, friend and daughter. OK, she's not perfect. In fact, she's just figuring it out like the rest of us. Sure, she feels bad when she has a sexy dream about someone other than her husband, David, or when she pretends not to know her kids, Lily and Louie, when they misbehave in public, or when she uses her staff to help solve personal problems. But nobody can have it all without making a few mistakes -- and Emet's realizing that as long as she doesn't become her mother, it's all going to work out pretty great.

Friday:
Friday is for catching up on all the shows we have on our DVR (or Netflix)

I also love Dateline and 20/20.

Saturday:
College Football
SNL
Or, Saturday nights we go on a Date Night or hang out with family/friends/neighbors, watch a movie, etc.

Sunday:
Sunday Night Football (we love Football in our house!)

*All images from google images*

This post makes me sound like a TV junkie.....because I am!!!
We mostly just DVR everything and watch it on Friday nights. We are SO exciting. Ha!
And, as the months go on, we cut out shows that we don't like or they just stay un watched on the DVR in what I call "DVR Suburgatory" and then I delete them or just start watching new shows on Netflix.

What are your favorite TV shows?
What new shows are you excited to try out?
Any shows you broke up with after last season?
Any new shows I need to start watching?
Are you excited about Fall TV?
