Oh, The Places You'll Go

This is a seriously cute idea.
I can't take credit for it.
As you know, I teach middle school.
Last year, one of my parents brought in a copy of this book for her teachers to sign.
The mom was having all her teachers sign it and then when her daughter graduates high school, she is going to give her daughter the book that is filled with notes from all her teachers.
SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!!

I knew I had to do this for my kids, so THAT DAY I ordered 3 copies of the book so that I wouldn't forget!
Because Kate was already on Summer break from preschool, this year, I went back to her preschool teachers & had them sign Kate's book.

I had Claire's preschool teachers sign her book the last week of preschool.
Tomorrow, I am dropping off Kate's book with her Kindergarten teacher for her to sign.

I wanted to share this idea so you can do this for your kids, it's not too late to start!
Even if your kids are in Elementary School, you could just start with Kindergarten (and not preschool). Or just start with whatever grade they are in now!

I think this will be such a treasure for my kids (and us!) to give them when they graduate high school.  As a teacher, I (obviously) value Education (don't we all?!?) and I think having notes from all their teachers over the years will be so special. It will be fun to see how each of my kids grows as a student (and person) each year from their teachers point of view.

So thankful I was able to "steal" this idea from a parent and I just had to share it with all of you!

P.S. Thanks for all your comments from yesterday's post. Glad I made you all laugh.
ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL SUMMER!!!!

P.P.S  Mel's Favorite Things Birthday Giveaway ends tomorrow (or sometime this weekend when I get a chance to pick the winners in between games of Candy Crush)
Be sure and enter here if you haven't done so already!

  3. I saw this on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and immediately bought copies the next day for my boys to take on the last day of school. I loved that my boys' sweet teachers for their 1 year old class and 3 year old class signed it and now we can carry it year to year. :) (I had planned to mention it in my post tomorrow, too.) Isn't Pinterest just the best? It's not always about crafting and awesome birthday parties, which you and I both happen to LOVE, but I just love finding ideas like this!!

  5. I have the same book for mine, too. There's going to be a whole generation of kids whose moms were on Pinterest when it came out and who will have these books. :)

  9. This is such a sweet idea. I started with the Dr. Seuss Happy Birthday To You book on Avery's first birhday, and may have people continue to sign it each year for the memories.

  10. I'm doing the same thing with my kids, except I am using the book "Yay, You" by Sandra Boynton. Her 1st grade and Kindergarten teachers cried when they saw the book and what I was doing for EmmyKate.
