Lake Tahoe

This post is from 2009, but it is one of our favorite vacation spots, so I just had to link up! And, it has some of my favorite photos of the Lake so you can see just how beautiful it is :)
We go to Lake Tahoe every summer for a week!
(And every winter to ski!)
It is one of the most beautiful places in the world & my Happy Place!

We got home late last night from 4 days at our cabin in Tahoe.

This trip was especially fun because my best friend AK & her family were also in Tahoe! They fly out from Colorado for a week every July to go to her in-laws place on Lake Tahoe, so Kevin and I try and coordinate our summer Tahoe trips for when they are there, so the kids can play & so we can hang out!
Here is a re-cap & massive picture overload from our trip! I took over 300 pictures, but I will spare you from all of them!

Day 1:
We drove up Saturday morning (and became sellouts) & after we got up to the cabin we went to the store, unpacked, let the girls play & then went on a walk around our neighborhood. Mellow day for us!Day 2:
We drove to the north shore to meet up with AK, Greg & boys at their place. Kevin and Greg went mountain biking & AK and I took the kids to a new playground right on Kings Beach. The view wasn't too shabby!
After the park,we met the guys at Garwoods for lunch & their famous Wet Woody drink.After lunch it was naptime for all the kids, so while the kids napped, we were able to hang out on their pier, soak in some rays & catch up. Their place is right on the lake with it's own pier & awesome views!


Day 3:
After a slow morning at our cabin, we met up with AK, Greg & family at Speedboat Beach. Kate & Will had so much fun playing with the big kids & watching them catch crawdads.

After the beach, we stopped to get some ice cream on the way back to our cabin.


Kevin snuck Claire some of his ice cream! Shame on him!
Day 4:
Our day started out with breakfast at our favorite coffee house!Then we headed to the brand new park in our neighborhood, Kate loved it!

When we got back to the cabin, Kate wanted to have lunch on our back deck with her little chair & table:
After naps, we headed down to Donner Lake for one last hurrah before we drove home. We are so lucky to be so close to 2 lakes! Kate sat & played in the sand for over an hour.

















It is just gorgeous up here. It is so nice to have a place to get away to. Lake Tahoe is one of my most favorite places in the world! We don't come up here nearly enough (probably because the girls don't sleep well up here, at all!). We decided to not bring Boulder with us because we were going to be gone during the day, so we left her with at home with Kevin's parents. This was not a good idea....Kate kept asking about BoBo & telling us she wanted Kevin to go home & bring back Boulder back to her Tahoe house. Oops. Lesson learned. Boulder will be coming with us next time!See you again in a month, Tahoe!
