One of my favorite things about the Fall is the new Fall TV schedule comes out!
Shows have their season premiers and we find out what new shows are premiering.
No more re-runs.
Usually, Fall Premier Week is in mid September, but for some reason this year, all the premiers are scattered throughout the end of September & October. Some shows aren't even premiering until the end of October! So strange!
What I love to do at the end of the day is just sit down with a glass of wine & zone out in front of the TV.
How about you?

We get to find out what happened in our favorite shows after months since the Season Finales!

Get ready.....Let's talk TV!
Monday:
Monday Night Football
(LOVE Monday Night Football)
(LOVE Monday Night Football)
Since How I Met Your Mother ended last year (Can we pause for a minute and discuss how sad I am that HIMYM has ended? Who cried during the series finale? *Raises Hand*) I only have one show on Monday nights that I put on my DVR which is 2 Broke Girls.
I've
watched 2 Broke Girls since it first came on the air a few years ago.
Last season was just "eh" but I will stick with it for another season.
New Shows on Mondays that I will check out:
NOTHING.
No
new shows on Monday. Nothing looks worth while to watch, which is good
since I am playing on an indoor soccer team and the games are on Monday
nights.
Tuesday:
New Girl
I was under-whelmed by last season, but of course I will keep watching it this season.
New Shows on Tuesdays that I will try out:
and:
They both look pretty cute, so I am recording them on my DVR.
Wednesday:
Out
of the 7 or 8 new shows I tried out last year, The Goldbergs is the
ONLY one that I stuck with for the entire year. All the other ones got
the boot after 2-3 weeks.
New shows on Wednesdays I will check out:
None! Nothing looks good!
Thursdays:
Parenthood!!!!!!!!!
I didn't start watching Parenthood until last Fall based on recomendations from many of you!
So, last Fall, I started with Season 1 on Netflix and powered through all 5 seasons by May.
I LOVE this show. I cry during every single episode.
So sad that it is ending this year.
The Biggest Loser:
Love, love, love the Biggest Loser.
New Shows on Thursdays I will try out:
A to Z:
I want to try out this show because the actress is Cristin Miloti who was the Mother (Ted's wife) in the last season of HIMYM.
I heard that they were going to do a new series staring her called How I
met your Father, but that it got cancelled. So, now she is in this new
show called A to Z.
Friday:
Friday is for catching up on all the shows we have on our DVR.
But, I have been totally into watching Shark Tank on Friday nights for the past year.
And, I must confess, I have totally gone online and bought things from people after seeing them on Shark Tank!
Amazing Race is now on Friday Nights (instead of Sunday Nights)
Saturday:
College Football
SNL
Some Saturdays, we rent a $1 movie from Red Box.
Sunday:
Sunday Night Football (we love Football in our house!)
This post makes me sound like a TV junkie (maybe I am!), but we mostly just DVR everything and watch it on Friday nights. We are SO exciting. Ha!
And, as the months go on, we cut out shows that we don't like or they just stay unwatched on the DVR in what I call "DVR Suburgatory" and then I delete them or just start watching new shows on Netflix.
Last Spring some friends let me borrow the entire series of Breaking Bad.
I started watching them during Spring Break and finished the ENTIRE series in a month.
SO good. Ahhhh!!!
Several friends have recommended that we start watching Homeland and House of Cards, so I might start one of those in the next few months, you know since I don't have enough shows right now that I am watching. LOL.

What are your favorite TV shows?
What new shows are you excited to try out?
Any shows you broke up with after last season?
Any new shows I need to start watching?
Are you excited about Fall TV?
Ooo definitely House of Cards! Do it!! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to ask: who is your team for the Amazing Race? I am backing the scientists since they're from Wisconsin like me, but I also like the college sweethearts and the mom/daughter team!
ReplyDeleteHomeland is REALLY good. I'm still clinging to Grey's Anatomy and Glee (ends after this upcoming season). We also watch The Walking Dead - but I totally get that show is not for everyone :)
ReplyDeleteHouse of Cards is AWESOME. Scandal is pretty good also! I was sad to see HIMYM end, although I thought the last 2 seasons were definitely lacking. I didn't realize this was the last season of Parenthood :( I plowed through the first 4 seasons while I was on bed rest with my twins and then during all the sleepless nights that followed, so that show sort of holds a special place in my heart. I even got a framed picture of some of the lyrics to the opening song. I've heard Blacklist and How to Get Away with Murder are good.
ReplyDeleteI am shocked you don't watch The Big Bamg Theory! It's on Monday night for now, but will be switching to Thursdays soon.
ReplyDeleteParenthood is the BEST!!! I always love watching the voice. Thank goodness for fall and tv and DVR :)
ReplyDeleteWhat are your favorite TV shows? I LOVE Brooklyn 99, it is the funniest thing on TV IMO right now. The kids like the Amazing Race and my family has decided that I would be the worst participant in race history.
ReplyDeleteWhat new shows are you excited to try out? We tried Gotham but I don't know if it will keep me.
Any shows you broke up with after last season? I don't know why I can't get into New Girl, as it seems like it would be right up my alley.
Any new shows I need to start watching? Marc started watching Homeland in Turkey and is OBSESSED.
Are you excited about Fall TV? I am! The last few seasons have been meh, but I do plan on grabbing my EW Fall TV premiere guide and programming some new stuff in the DVR.
Based on the other shows you listed (which by the way are almost all the same as the ones I watch - high five) - I think you would also like Blue Bloods on Friday nights. Similar to the extended family theme of Parenthood but it takes place in NYC about a family of police/lawyers. This year I would like to watch Homeland because everyone tells me how good it is. I also watch Brooklyn 99 it is very funny. I have three kiddos also and a job (nurse) so I totally get the television and a glass of wine to relax after a busy day/week!
ReplyDeleteI'm like a season and a half behind on Parenthood, but I can't wait to catch up one of these days!!
ReplyDeleteScandal is AMAZING, you must catch up and watch Olivia Pope!
ReplyDeleteAthe three shows I'm looking most forward to returning are Downtown Abbey, Game of Thrones ( which won't be till January) and Walking Dead. Yes, I know that sounds strange. The comedy shows I really watch year to year are The Middle, Modern Family, The Big Bang and Last Man Standing. Not really into reality shows except 19 Kids and Counting. And we are big news and history documentary watchers and of course HGTV. That's seems like a lot but we DVR almost everything and watch when we can. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI cried during the series finale of HIMYM. I still have it on my DVR and won't be deleting it any time soon. I'm still mourning my loss! I want to watch A to Z as well!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I'm not the only one who still has the HIMYM finale on the DVR!! :)
DeleteUmmmm... I could have written this post!!! LOL Love so many of the same shows as you!! I thought A to Z was super cute! I like both the leads! And am so upset that HIMYM is over!! I so totally loved your enthusiasm for Parenthood...it is seriously the best show!! it is sort of like Friday Night Lights was a few years back...pretty much the BEST show no one is watching! And I am pretty much loving the Biggest Loser! Two other new shows I'm giving a shot to this season are Red Band Society Wed at 9 on Fox and How to Get Away with Murder at 10 on Thursdays on ABC. I really didn't wanna like it because I have so much other TV I watch but I did! Agree with your friends that House of Cards and Homeland are really good! I watch all my DVR'd shows on Saturday mornings (I am officially old and an early riser), so on Friday nights, it's CBS all the way! The Amazing Race, Hawaii 5-0 and Blood Bloods. Def check out Blue Bloods!! Another one I never miss! The other two, I'm ok with missing an episode or two, if I have plans! Now that you know way more than you really want to about my viewing habits, I stop rambling...have a great night!!
ReplyDeleteI cry every day that HIMYM is over!! Okay that might be a slight exaggeration! Big Bang Theory, Heartland, Real Housewives of pick a city, the Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels
ReplyDeleteI love Nashville. I'm also trying How To Get Away with Murder and so far, it's good. Homeland and House of Cards are both great!! Perfect for binge watching ;)
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love Parenthood! Also, like Modern Family, The Voice and A-Z! I read your post last year on fall tv line up and have been waiting for you to do the post again this year. Love to see what you enjoy watching!
ReplyDeleteThe Middle on Wed. night. It makes hump-day do-able.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Trisha
You don't watch Midern Family?
ReplyDeleteAnd I really want to start Scandal. The cast was on Ellen recently, and it got me interested in the show. Plus, I've heard good things.
We like Blacklist, but I don't think it's you style :)
Love the Goldbergs and Parenthood!
ReplyDeleteWe also watch The Blacklist, Scorpion and The red Band Society.
You should try Modern Family, so funny and also The Mindy Project, it is my Favorite! Mindy Kaling is awesome and so so funny!
ReplyDeleteJane the Virgin just started on Mondays on CW and it was funny, smart and sweet. Even my husband liked it!
